SMR / AMR References
Supporting innovative reactor projects from early conceptual phase to energy production.
Oakridge supports AMR/SMR projects from early conceptual phase to electricity or heat production, accelerating their progress to contribute to the decarbonization of the global energy mix. In 2024, Oakridge received the France 2030 label for Innovative Nuclear Reactors.
Core Design | Proxima Project
250 MWth molten salt reactor with removable fuel cartridges. Neutronic calculations and core optimization for burning minor actinides.
Pressure Equipment Regulations
Adapting French requirements (ESP/ESPN) to molten salt reactors. Regulatory transposition, critical design review and technical framework.
Integrated PWR SMR | 300 MWe
Writing the Safety Options File (DOS) and safety systems engineering for the NUWARD pressurized water reactor.
Criticality-Safety Storage
Sub-critical configuration for fuel cartridge storage. Storage building sizing.
Lead-Cooled Fast Reactor
Radiation protection studies and radiological zoning optimization for the molten lead-cooled fast neutron reactor.
40 MWe Molten Salt Reactor
Safety system design and thermal activities (tracing/insulation) for the containerized molten salt reactor.
CAL 30 and CAL 90 reactors for district heating
Oakridge is involved in the design of the HVAC systems of the CAL 30 and CAL 90 modular nuclear reactors developed by Calogena. Our teams contribute to the design of the ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, guaranteeing the safety, performance and availability requirements of the facilities. This project is part of the development of a new generation of low-carbon energy solutions, with a first commissioning scheduled around 2030.
